Tonight at Trinity University: Arlene Sánchez-Walsh lectures on "La Economía de Dios: Almavisión & the Latino/a Prosperity Gospel Movement”

Tonight Dr. Arlene Sánchez-Walsh is giving a lecture at Trinity University (San Antonio, TX) at 5:30 on the subject "La Economía de Dios: Almavisión & the Latino/a Prosperity Gospel" as part of the Alvarez Seminar. This is the official blurb:

Arlene Sánchez-Walsh, from Azusa Pacific University, will present ‘La Economía de Dios: Almavisión & the Latino/a Prosperity Gospel Movement’ as part of the 2015 Alvarez Seminar on ‘The Sacred and the Mundane: Religious Practice and Belief in the US-Mexico Border.’

The event is free and open to the public. A reception will take place at 5 p.m. before the start of the lecture.

The Alvarez Seminar is made possible by the support of the Carlos and Malú Alvarez Fund for the MAS (Mexico, the Americas, and Spain) Program at Trinity.

I plan on being there. Several years ago I read and greatly appreciated Dr. Sánchez-Walsh's Latino Pentecostal Identity: Evangelical Faith, Self and Society and I've read many of her articles and blog posts ever since. Should be a good lecture!
