If you dislike Tim Tebow, you'll probably hate the San Francisco Giants!

Apparently, the San Francisco Giants are a team full of Bible thumpers: see John Anthony Dunne's post "Giant Faith". I know 90% of the United States wanted them to lose to the Kansas City Royals (though now they're singing Bumgarner's praises after watching history in the making), but they didn't and now they're champs for the third time in five years. If people's reaction to Tebow's "faith on his sleeve" is any indication, then this is another reason for people to root against San Francisco (ironic, eh, who would connect "San Francisco" to "Christianity" in any other context than baseball?), because apparently the Los Angeles Dodgers aren't the most hatable franchise in the world. (Now, that's total depravity!)

[In all honesty, I am being hyperbolic about the connection to Tebow. I've been a Giants fan my whole life and I've only heard a little here and there about their faith commitments, so I don't think its as much a part of their "brand" as it is for Tebow. Also, in case someone gets unnecessarily frustrated, I don't think God cares about baseball. That said, especially in the case of Hunter Pence, faith can provide the sort of stability that allows a person to give their energy to that which is most important in their life, including their jobs, and baseball is the "job" if major leaguers, so before completely writing off the role of faith it may be worth asking why these athletes find strength in their faith.]
