Happy Thanksgiving! This year I am grateful for many of the things that bring me gratitude every year: my amazing wife; my family including my parents, grandparents, brother, and family-in-law, both those from my wife's family and my brother's wife; my nephew, due in April to my brother and sister-in-law, who will be named "Liam" (which means he'll have "a very specific set of skills"); my Church family (La Trinidad UMC); my health and overall well-being; continual progress in my doctoral program and the opportunity to study through Trinity College Bristol with Drs. C.A. Evans and D. Wenham; increasing comfort and familiarity with San Antonio, TX, and this local community; and much, much, much more.
I believe "every good and perfect gift comes from above" though I don't understand the divine workings among humans when it comes to material and physical well-being. I do trust that what we may call "blessing" at times is more "responsibility" and I hope that as a privileged person in our world I can use whatever I have to do good in the world and to work for greater justice and equality among its peoples.
If you read my random thoughts here with any frequency I want to wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving and a wonderful rest of 2014.
